About us

Tailored Education and Community Consulting Service (TECCS) believes in the promotion of a culture of academic excellence in the communities as a driver for social mobility. As a community vehicle, TECCS provides a tailored tuition support to children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the form of Weekend Booster Sessions, support community resilience building through Intergenerational Dialogue and Community Conversations, lead Consultancy works in Education through CPD trainings and collaborate with communities to design and implement community impact projects in the UK and overseas.

Services

Tuition Services

Learner individualized and supportive small group tuition in academic subjects from KS1 to A ‘level in Nottingham. Specific focus in English Language and Maths for age groups in KS1 – KS3 (UK school year 1 to year 9) and different subject options for GSCE and A ‘level.
Mapped to the UK National Curriculum, all sessions provide tailored support to children’s individual needs including plugging learning gaps or stretching to ensure every child progresses academically and socially by enhancing their attitude towards learning. Sessions are conducted in an environment that enables appropriate academic stimulating social interactions, peer partnerships and small group learning opportunities.
Community Resilience Building

Community Resilience Building

TECCS creates opportunities for community reflections through community conversations in diverse global majority communities to enable them take stock, review challenges and suggest durable community solutions to build their individual and collective resilience. An element of this involves regular in person, online and (Live) radio intergenerational dialogue sessions to help bridge the gap between the older and younger generations for the creation of understanding and healthy community relationships.
Educational Consultancy

Educational Consultancy

TECCS has industry relevant experience and expertise in Education and holds CPD training workshops for education practitioners in delivering Reading Comprehension, talk4writing, and facilitation of parental engagement workshops.
Delivers individual and group (institutional) training in Safeguarding and Child Protection. TECCS led a research consultancy in partnership with Child Protection Alliance (CPA) The Gambia (2021-2023), to produce and deliver a content and culturally appropriate Safeguarding and Child Protection CPD training for children and young people practitioner of The Gambia.
Engaging parents in Education

Engaging parents in Education

TECCS is aware of the barriers to parental engagement in Education particularly within the ethnic minority heritage parents, we therefore factor social, economic, and cultural dimensions in supporting parents within a culturally appropriate environment through community workshops, to educate them about the UK education system to achieve their involvement and engagement in the education of their children as significant stakeholders.

Collaborations in Community Impact Projects

TECCS is a partner in improving learning outcomes for school children in The Gambia through consultancy in capacity building training for education practitioners, community consulting in building school-home partnerships and sourcing of learning resources (including stage and age-appropriate reading books) for children in identified Gambian schools.
